Frequency and language

The journal publishes one volume and two issues a year; issues appear on the last day of June and December. The languages of publication are Turkish and English. Any change to the frequency or publication months is announced before the new volume begins.

Article types

The journal publishes research articles, review articles, case reports, book reviews, interviews and letters to the editor. Lengths and the type of review for each are given in the Author Guidelines.

Editorial independence

Publication decisions are made by the editors solely on the basis of scholarly quality, originality, methodological adequacy and fit with the journal's scope. Neither the publisher nor the service provider interferes with editorial decisions. Authors' institution, title, nationality, gender, beliefs or opinions have no bearing on decisions.

Manuscripts by editors and board members

  • Manuscripts submitted by the Editor-in-Chief are handled by a field editor who has no conflict of interest with the Editor-in-Chief; that editor makes the final decision.
  • Manuscripts by field editors and Advisory Board members are assigned to an editor with no conflict of interest.
  • An editor who is an author has no access to the review records of their own manuscript at any stage.
  • Editors, board members or reviewers may be authors of no more than 25% of the research articles published in any issue.
  • An author's board membership is stated in the article's conflict of interest statement.

Special issues

Special issues are prepared under the responsibility of the Editor-in-Chief, and the review process and policies of regular issues apply to them in full. The expertise of guest editors is assessed by the Editor-in-Chief and their work is overseen by the editorial office. Guest editors' own papers are reviewed independently and may not exceed 25% of the articles in the special issue. Special issues appear no more often than one third of the number of regular issues, use separate page numbering and are clearly labelled as special issues.

Prior publication and preprints

The journal considers work that has not been published elsewhere and is not under review at another journal. Preprints (e.g., on PsyArXiv), theses and unpublished conference papers do not count as prior publication; authors should state them at submission.

Advertising and direct marketing

The journal does not carry advertising or sponsored content. Calls for papers are issued only through the journal's official channels and are addressed to researchers in the field.

Revenue model

The journal's publishing costs are covered by Artsürem Publishing, which provides its publishing services. The journal has no other source of revenue, and this arrangement does not influence editorial decisions.

Copyright, licensing and archiving

From the December 2026 issue (Volume 14, Issue 38), articles are published under the CC BY 4.0 licence and copyright remains with the authors (see Copyright and Licensing). Published content is preserved in PKP PN (see Archiving and Repository Policy).

Ethics

In research and publication ethics the journal follows COPE guidance, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) Directive on Scientific Research and Publication Ethics, and the ethical principles of psychology (see Research and Publication Ethics).

Policy updates

Policies are updated when necessary, and the effective date is stated on this page. Last updated: October 2026.
