Öz

Bu derleme makalesi, sahne algısının ne olduğunu, ne zaman ortaya çıktığını ve görsel bilişin merkezinde nasıl bir rol oynadığını kapsamlı bir biçimde ele almaktadır. Makalenin temel amacı, sahne algısı kuramlarının son yarım yüzyılda çoğu kez eksik veya indirgemeci biçimlerde sunulan yönlerini bütüncül bir bakış açısıyla yeniden değerlendirmektir. Bu amaçla, ilk bölümde sahne ve sahne algısı kavramları kuramsal çerçevede tanımlanmakta; izleyicinin sahneden edindiği bilgilerin düşük-, orta- ve yüksek-düzey bilişsel süreçler aracılığıyla nasıl işlendiği açıklanmaktadır. İkinci bölümde ise sahne algısının yalnızca nesnelerin tanınmasına veya sahneden hızlıca elde edilen sahne özünün algılanmasına indirgenemeyeceğini; aksine, çevreyle etkileşimi, öngörüyü ve hareket planlamasını mümkün kılan dinamik bir mekanizma olduğu ileri sürülmektedir. Bu bağlamda sahne algısının, izleyiciyi dünyaya dair tahminler yürütmeye, çevredeki sağlarlıkları değerlendirmeye ve içinde bulunduğu çevrede etkin bir biçimde hareket etmeye hazırlayan bilişsel süreçlerin merkezinde yer aldığı iddia edilmektedir. Bu çerçevede sahne algısının yalnızca görsel işlemlemeye dayalı bir tanıma süreci olmadığını; tahmin üretme, hareket planlama, bellek şemalarının etkinleştirilmesi ve dikkatin yönlendirilmesi gibi çoklu bilişsel süreçlerin ortak olarak, çok katmanlı ve bütüncül bir süreç olarak ele alınması gerektiğini öne sürmektedir. Bu yönüyle derlemenin özgünlüğü, sahne algısına ilişkin farklı kuramsal yaklaşımları bir araya getirerek bilişsel psikoloji alan yazınına güncel ve bütünleştirici bir katkı sunmasıdır.
