Öz
Ülkemizde bireylerin soyutlama, muhakeme gibi bilişsel becerilerinin değerlendirilmesine yarayan kültüre özgü ölçeklere ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Bu araştırmada bireylerin soyutlama becerisini değerlendirmeye yarayan kültüre özgü Atasözleri Ölçeği’nin geliştirilmesi ve psikometrik özelliklerinin sağlıklı gönüllülerde incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. 23-83 yaş aralığında (x̅yaş = 49.26, SS = 14.73) %56’sı (n=68) erkeklerden oluşan toplam 122 sağlıklı gönüllüye bilişsel becerilerinin değerlendirilmesi için Standardize Mini Mental Test, Montreal Bilişsel Değerlendirme Ölçeği, Mutfak Resim Testi, WAIS-R Yargılama ve Benzerlikler alt ölçekleri ile araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen Atasözleri Ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Ölçeğin açımlayıcı faktör analizinde çoklu faktör yapısı elde edilmiştir. Atasözleri Ölçeği puanlarının soyutlama ve muhakeme becerilerini ölçmeye yarayan WAIS-R Yargılama ve Benzerlik alt ölçekleri ve Mutfak Resmi Testi’nin Yargılama alt ölçeği ile pozitif yönde korelasyon gösterdiği saptanmıştır. Ölçeğin iç tutarlılığı orta düzeyde (Cronbach alpha=.76) olup değerlendiriciler arası güvenirliği yüksek (r=.98) olarak bulunmuştur. Bu çalışmanın sonuçları 15 maddelik Atasözleri Ölçeği’nin soyutlama becerisini değerlendirmeye yarayan geçerli ve güvenilir bir araç olduğuna işaret etmektedir.
