Öz
Bu çalışmada annenin kontrol ve disiplin uygulamaları, anneden algılanan sıcaklık ve düşmanlık ile algılanan kardeş ilişkisi arasındaki ilişki örüntüsünün büyük ve küçük kardeşlerde farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığı incelenmiştir. Ana babalık ve çocuğa ilişkin sonuçlar arasındaki ilişkiyi araştıran önceki araştırmalarda genel olarak, bir aileden sadece tek bir çocuk katılmıştır ancak bu çalışmaya aynı aileden iki kardeş dahil edilmiştir. Büyük (5.3 - 8.7 yaş) ve küçük çocuğu (3 - 5.5 yaş) olan toplamda 100 aileye ulaşılmıştır. Anneler kendi disiplin uygulamalarını, gözlemciler annelerin kontrol uygulamalarını, kardeşler de annelerinden algıladıkları sıcaklık ve düşmanlığın yanı sıra kardeşleriyle ilişkilerinde algıladıkları olumlu duyguları ve çatışmayı rapor etmişlerdir. Sonuçlar her iki kardeşte de (1) annenin pozitif kontrolünün, anneden algılanan sıcaklık ile pozitif yöndeki ilişkisi üzerinden kardeş ilişkisinde algılanan olumlu duygu ile pozitif yönde ilişkili olduğunu ve (2) annenin negatif disiplininin, anneden algılanan düşmanlık ile pozitif yöndeki ilişkisi üzerinden algılanan kardeş çatışması ile pozitif yönde ilişkili olduğunu göstermiştir. Bunlara ek olarak, anneleri daha fazla pozitif kontrol kullanan küçük kardeşlerin annelerini daha az düşmanca algıladıkları ancak büyük kardeşlerde bu yönde bir örüntü olmadığı görülmüştür. Özetle, öne sürülen ilişki örüntülerinin büyük ve küçük kardeşlerde büyük oranda benzer olmasına rağmen kardeşler arasında ilginç farklılıklar olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
