Öz
İnternet çağının en önemli getirilerinden biri çok sayıda bilgiye hızlıca erişim kolaylığıdır. Ancak bu durum, insanları sınırlı zaman karşısında çok sayıda bilgi arasından ilgili olanları ayırt etmek durumunda bırakmaktadır. Bu nedenle, bu durumla baş edebilmenin bir yolu olarak çoklu medya görevleri yaygınlaşmıştır. Böylece bireyler bilgi iletişim teknolojilerini ve bu teknolojilerin sahip olduğu fonksiyonları eş zamanlı olarak kullanmaktadır. Bu yaygınlaşan bilgi iletişim teknolojisi kullanım çeşidini yordayan birtakım değişkenler ortaya konmuştur. Bu değişkenler, kullanıcı temelli (sosyo-demografik, psikolojik değişkenler), medya temelli (medya sahipliği vs.) değişkenler ve çoklu görev tercih motivasyonlarıdır. Tüm bu değişkenler, alan yazında mevcut bazı kavramsal modeller aracılığı ile teorik açıdan incelenmiştir.
