Öz
Ana-babalık uygulamalarının çocuklar üzerinde farklı etkileri vardır. Hangi uygulamaların olumlu, hangilerinin olumsuz sonuçlar ile ilişkili olduğuna karar vermek kolay değildir. Bu derlemenin amacı ana baba hedefleri ve alan özelinde sosyalleştirme yaklaşımı çerçevesinde etkili ana babalığı ele almaktır. Alan özelinde sosyalleştirme yaklaşımına göre anne baba çocuk etkileşimleri ana babanın hedefleri ve çocuğun ihtiyaçları doğrultusunda farklı alanlarda gerçekleşir. Her alan çocuğun farklı bir ihtiyacına karşılık gelmektedir (korunma, disiplin, öğrenme, oyun, grup katılımı) ve o ihtiyaca uygun ana babalık uygulamaları yine bu yaklaşımda belirtilmiştir. Etkili ana babalığın ortaya çıkması ana babaların hedefleri ile çocuğun ihtiyaçlarının örtüşmesine bağlıdır. Bununla birlikte, çocuklar pasif alıcılar değildir. Benzer ana baba uygulamaları farklı çocuklarda farklı sonuçlar ortaya çıkarabilir. Dolayısıyla ana babaların yaklaşımlarını belirlerken çocuklarının cinsiyet, mizaç, yaş gibi özelliklerini göz önünde bulundurmaları gerekir. Son olarak, ana babalar çocuklarını ne kadar iyi tanırlarsa, onlar hakkında ne kadar çok bilgi sahibi olurlarsa çocuklarına yaklaşımları da o kadar çok onların ihtiyaçlarına cevap verecektir.
